What is it?

AMERICAN VALUE$ is an interactive exhibit that provides an opportunity for natively born, naturalized and prospective citizens to literally "step up" to the challenge of answering the 100 standardized questions of the U.S. Citizenship Test in a public space. Placing the exhibit in a physical space dimensionalizes the issue of civic engagement and the mechanical donation mechanism playfully and casually invites people to participate. The digital interactive affordances of the table allow room for feature enhancements such as data visualizations that could show localized test statistics, leaderboards and high scores. Tie-ins with social media platforms could encourage people to join the conversation, draft letters to local representatives or perhaps even allow them to interactively crowd source a new Digital Bill of Rights.  [–] ...
